Felipe de Borbón, Duke of Anjou and future Philip V of Spain, child, Pierre Mignard I, 1686

Portrait of king philip v of spain (1683-1746), who was the grandson of king louis xiv of france and the first monarch of the house of bourbon in spain. It appears when he was still duke of anjou. She appears on a cushion embroidered with the emblematic fleurs-de-lis hugging a black dog. Richly dressed, he displays the sash and insignia of saint-esprit, an order founded by his ancestor henry iv of france. The work copies the same character found in the portrait the great dauphin and his family (museum of versailles) in which he is seen with his parents and siblings (text extracted from luna, j.
