" and was published in april in the journal “la silhouette, lithographic album: fine arts, drawings, morals, theaters, caricatures” whose director was victor ratier, the printer-lithographer of this same plate. According to maximilien gauthier, this lithograph was also attached to the original edition published by mame and delaunay-vallée (1830), the copies of which are marked by an autograph from victor hugo “hierro! », as evidenced by one of those kept by the museum. Undoubtedly we can find the genesis of this print in the memory that ms. Hugo would later recall in her “victor hugo recounted by a witness to his life”, after the premiere of hernani: “on arriving home, m. Victor hugo found his living room full.
