V. P. Langer. Portrait of d. V. Davydov. 1820s. _______________ the famous partisan detachment commander denis davydov is depicted in the portrait in peasant clothes, but with the order of st. George, 4th class, on a neck ribbon. It is known that davydov dressed in peasant clothes so as not to frighten the locals: not recognizing the uniforms, they could mistake him for a french officer. Date: 1820s.
