Ales, Mikulas - Zalov (1880), Mikoláš Aleš

Mikoláš aleš: lawsuit. The final painting from the 12 lunettes of the homeland cycle, which was intended for the decoration of the interior of the national theatre. In this painting, the goddess morana sends the hero to eternity. Aleš created the paintings during his stay at the brandejs estate in suchdol, which is not far from the then village called žalov. In the mythology used by alš, žalov is called the place where all heroes sleep eternally. It is generally assumed that the painting really depicts the landscape around žalovo ([1]). Date: 1880.
