A north west view of castle howard, yorkshire, home of the howard family. Built circa 1712, original design by sir john vanburgh. Picture shows the west wing added in the mid 18th century. This was first published in: jones' views of the seats, mansions, castles etc of noblemen and gentlemen in england, wales, scotland and ireland and other picturesque scenery accompanied with historical descriptions of the mansions, lists of pictures, statues etc and genealogical sketches of the families and their possessions: forming part of the general series of jones' great britain illustrated (1829).
