Ceiling divided into panels with moulded frames and painted decoration. A portion of the octagonal center panel is shown, bordered with swags and bowknots. Below this, an x-shaped panel with grotesques and a medallion at the center showing a winged figure. On either side of this are rinceaux panels. At lower right, a grotesque. Date: circa 1800. Dimensions: H x W: 28.6 × 19.6 cm (11 1/4 × 7 11/16 in.). Medium: brush and watercolor on paper, graphite, pen and ink. Collection: Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum.
