The portrait is a free copy of the original by l. Tocquet (1756-1758, state hermitage museum) and testifies to the appeal of the beginning rokotov to the brilliant examples of foreign masters who worked in russia in the mainstream of rocaille culture. This was reflected in the borrowing of the graceful turn of the figure of the depicted and the decorative expressiveness of the coloring, in which the main role is played by the rich red color of the caftan.
