This picture is evidently the painting from the crypt chapel of the capuchin monastery on lenbachplatz in munich, which came into the gemäldegalerie during secularization, was returned to the capuchins (at the new location in the south of the city) by ludwig i in 1852 "under reservation of state ownership", initially found a place in the sorrowful chapel and was moved to it after the construction of the church of st.
