„party per fess argent and vert, a rising armed, langued and crowned azure double-tailed demi-lion gules and below above a terrace in base wavy argent a boat or with constructional systems argent at tail and helm. “ the arms were granted on march 10, 1923. The arms are derived from an old court seal from 1567. Leverkusen was founded in 1930 after the merger of wiesdorf with three surrounding municipalities. The new city was named after karl leverkus, who founded a paint factory in wiesdorf. The new city received arms , which are identical to the arms of wiesdorf. Date: 15 March 1923.
