Sleeping satyr Bouchardon Louvre MR1921, Edmé Bouchardon

Sleeping satyr, copy made in rome of the celebrated antique barberini faun, now in the glyptothek of munich. The statue was exhibited in public parks (parc monceau, parc de saint-cloud, luxembourg gardens), thus the poor condition of the marble. Dimensions: H. 1.84 m (6 ft. ¼ in.), W. 1.42 m (4 ft. 7 ¾ in.), D. 1.19 m (3 ft. 10 ¾ in.). Collection: Louvre Museum.
