Maastricht, kasteel Lichtenberg, 1740 (cropped)

Detail of an engraving of lichtenberg castle on the sint-pietersberg near maastricht. The engraving was printed in part ii of het gloreerd nederland or kabinet van contemporane gezigten van cities, villages, ditches, etc. Etc. (image 133-34), published by isaak tinon in amsterdam in 1746. From the "voorberigt van den drukker" in part i of this work it appears that the drawing was made by jan de beyer (the initial letters "j. D. Flown") and engraved in copper by hendrik spilman. Date: 1740.
