Goethe, the student, valued the company of this educated, experienced, refined, honest man, who was devoted to him with body and soul. Tischbein was also his guide in naples. In old age, the two resumed their correspondence. Tischbein drew and goethe adapted tischbein's "idylls" - both of which were poor products. Date: by 1817.
