historical commentary:
the dendrite technique takes its name from the shapes due to crystallization on certain fossil stones. In this case, it is a technique practiced between 1860 and 1876 by george sand. It consists of crushing watercolor colors on paper using a sheet of bristol, the veins and shapes obtained constitute the starting points of a composition developed by the artist's imagination.
