Etaples hospital siding - a vad convoy unloading an ambulance train at night
image: two motor ambulances have pulled up alongside a stationary ambulance train, with casualties being unloaded. To the left a few casualties on stretchers have been placed on the ground, with two pairs of stretcher-bearers carrying two wounded men just behind. There is a building to the left and the headlights of the two vehicles illuminate the darkness in the areas immediately in front of them. The motor ambulances and train are marked clearly with red cross symbols. Date: 1917 (First World War).
