King frederik iii, his private secretary christoffer gabel, svend poulsen, gøngehøvdingen and christen skeel, a member of rigsrådet (the council of the state), in rosenborg castle in copenhagen. Christen skeel lays his hand on svend poulsen and tells the king that he is bringing him good news. The king in turn warmly welcomes svend poulsen and ask if he has brought the money he should which he has. King frederik iii of denmark and norway (1609-1670), christoffer gabel (1617-1673), svend poulsen (app. 1610 - app. 1679) and christen skeel (1603-1659) were real persons but the story is fiction.
