Ivan Enchev-Vidyu Bulgarian Folk Crosses 231, June 1916

231. Cross - tombstone, around the cemeteries in the city. Gorna oryahovitsa. Carved from white finely hollow limestone. Four-winged; on the upper wing there is a semi-cylindrical outgrowth, the lower one expands in the form of a plinth; between the four wings in the corners are carved semi-cylindrical projections, with rays engraved on their faces; a 1. 5 cm wide four-winged cross is carved in the middle of the face, and a line is engraved parallel to the end contour. This cross is of the type of the more recent (after the war of independence 1877) crosses around gornooryakhovsko. Average height 1 m, width 60 cm and thickness 15 cm. Sketched from the original in june 1916. (vol. 2, obr. 5. ). Date: June 1916.
