A small hoeker close-hauled in a breeze to the right, a lee bow view of a hooker close-hauled on the port tack; astern of her a small vessel on the starboard tack. There are two ships at anchor in the left distance. This is a pencil and wash drawing by the younger, signed in brown ink ‘w. V. Vj’. The pencil and wash has been strengthened with pen and brown ink.
