Four scenes are depicted: from left to right; a serpent with the body of a mermaid hands eve the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil; eve offers the fruit to adam; god punishes adam and eve, who leave paradise and become aware of their nudity by covering themselves with a fig leaf.
