Two boys stand near a streetlamp in front of governor alexander mcnair's residence on the northwest corner of main and spruce streets. There is an inscription along the bottom of the daguerreotype. Part of it is covered by the mat placed over the daguerreotype, but "former residence of the first" can be seen.
