Field post letters from hans koch, vienna, world war ii, eastern front, 1922-1945 previous letter (1936-06-17) letter date (1936-12-29) next letter (1937-05-13) [hedi's parents gave the altarpiece to the church for this reason] (hedi's dad is an academic painter) so that we had to take the sick child. - incidentally, if i had known that you, hansi, needed a confirmation sponsor in the spring, either my brother or i would have been happy to give you one. Your mum could only have written that you were not getting a sponsor and so we would have been happy to stand up for you. Perhaps i can get you a summer place with mrs ginther [a surname in ehenbichl] this year, but with mrs wörle. I feel so sorry for you that i am ashamed. - my brother toni is better now, he is not healthy yet. Everything is the same in ehenbichl. We still have enough snow. The boys like to ski and [ski a lot. ]. Date: 29 December 1936.
