iconographic description:
decor mixing painted or gilded ornaments and sculpted relief ornaments. On the upper edge of the collar, large cartouche with gilded frame depicting an artist's studio. The scene is inspired by a painting by ducis entitled: "propertia de rossi sculpting his last bas-relief" which belongs to a series of four paintings entitled: "the arts under the empire of love". Rossi's propertia symbolizes sculpture. The sculptor is shown in her workshop surrounded by her works. She has just finished a bas-relief, "joseph fleeing the seductions of potiphar's wife", which she reveals to her lover, seated, in profile. Themes / subjects / places represented:
