Schurz Greeley Monkey, 6 July 1872

U. S. Senator carl schurz has a monkey, which looks like new york tribune editor horace greeley, hoisted to his face, and he is looking it eye to eye. The monkey is attached by a line to a box (presumably an organ grinder's instrument) which has the inscription “this is not an organ. ” the monkey has a paper attached to its tail which says “gratz brown” (greeley's running mate). Date: 6 July 1872.
