Danish translation (cf. Madsen 1904): "hercules father of the lydian girls rokken in hand; willingly a god bends under the yoke of the beloved, shows that even the mightiest spirit, whom love subdues, is destroyed by the fire of lust and the soft power of love. German translation: "den händen des herkules überlassen die lydischen mädchen ihre tägliche spinnarbeit, und der mächitge gott unterwirftsich der herrschaft seiner herrin. So können die stärksten geister gefesselt werden durch die verderbliche begierde, und starken herzen werdenbezwungen durch zarte liebe" (gottorf im glanz des barock i, cat. 170) in guy de terverant's translation (in the letter archive): "les filles de lydis metten aux mains d'hercule la guenouille/ le dieu abandonne son pouvoir á le femmes/ c'est ainsi que la follevolupté et le facile amour/ en s'emparant du coeur subjugate les grand âmes".
