Portrait of grigore pleșoianu (b. January 30, 1808, cerneți - d. January 30, 1857) was a romanian translator and teacher. He was the son of paraschiv pleșoianu, from a family of olteni boyars, and elisabeta (née greceanu). He studied at the saint sava college in bucharest where he had gheorghe lazăr and ion heliade-rădulescu as teachers. Grigore pleșoianu, together with stanciu căpățâneanu, founded the central school in craiova. He was a teacher of this school in the period 1826 - 1836, after which he settled in cerneți where he performed the position of chief engineer. He collaborated with curierul românesc and had a rich publishing activity. He wrote: greek-romanian alphabet (1825); facilitating alphabet for teaching children after d.
