genre scene. Exterior scene: paris, "rue de castiglione", architecture. Characters: a crowd of men, women and children rush to read the poster that a man sticks on a wall "proclamation". He holds a paintbrush between his teeth. Many other posters line the wall: "diner", "napoleon", "res[. . . ]. The man carries other posters and material on his belt. Women and a child buy the newspapers sold by the peddler while he announces the news. A dog stands in the middle of the crowd. Two young chimney sweeps emerge onto the square. One of them wears knee pads. Carts, one of which bears the inscription "blan", pass in the distance. Mode of acquisition: purchase
