At the age of 15, the german-born meyer was taken to london, where he studied with christian friedrich zincke, a specialist in painting in enamel on copper. In 1764, he became painter in miniature to queen charlotte and painter in enamel to george iii. Date: circa 1773. Place of creation: London, England, United Kingdom. Dimensions: 7.3 cm (2.8 in).
