V. 42. My dear mum! yesterday i received your letter and the swimming trunks with many thanks and joy. Unfortunately the weather here is not suitable for swimming at the moment. Otherwise i am doing excellently. I always get up at around 9:30 a. M. The meal starts then. I don't need to help. I sometimes go out into the fields for fun and help out a bit; it looks better. The food is very good and the people here are very nice and friendly. So fritzl is on holiday again. Please say hello to him from me. Greetings to all [acquaintances too. ]. Date: 29 May 1942.
