Le coq d'inde et les paons (lithograph from 1868) by rodolphe bresdin (* 17 march 1825 in ingrande; † 14 january 1885 in sèvres; artist name also chien-caillou); was a french graphic artist who became known for his detailed depictions of nature, often as a background for biblical and religious motifs. He is considered a pioneer of fantastic, visionary forms of representation in the romantic period and is therefore sometimes referred to as a proto-surrealist. Date: 1868.
