Conception Remisa de Moret, Federico de Madrazo y Kuntz, 1856

Concepción remisa de moret was the wife of segismundo moret y quintana, a famous writer, politician and landowner of nineteenth-century spain, whose portrait, in turn by madrazo, is also preserved in the collections of the prado museum (p04466). The purity of the lines and the delicacy of its workmanship show the dependence on the influence that federico de madrazo had since his training on the work of the french painter jean auguste dominique ingres (1780-1867). This canvas was donated on june 12, 1924 by teresa moret, daughter of the sitter, to the museum of modern art, from where it went to the prado museum. Object Type: painting. Genre: portrait.
