Zecherrelief, Hans Schenck, between 1537 and 1542

Zecherrelief, Hans Schenck, between 1537 and 1542

Evidence of berlin renaissance culture; the identity of the two figures on the left is unclear. Helmut börsch-supan suggested that the man crowned with vine leaves and grapes should be a self-portrait of hans schenck, alluding to his name, which bears no resemblance to the portrait on the epitaph of archbishop friedrich of brandenburg (1530–1552). Object Type: relief sculpture. Date: between 1537 and 1542. Dimensions: 73.5 × 126 cm (28.9 × 49.6 in) inscription 30 × 116 cm (11.8 × 45.6 in). Medium: sandstone. Collection: Jagdschloss Grunewald.
