garden obelisk, from the louis xvi and early 19th centuries, house at 10, rue cassini, 14th arrondissement. Courtyard, neoclassical architecture, sculpture. Monolithic column, reused obelisk, dionysian iconography: borghese dancers, attribute of bacchus: stick with pine cone, garlands of foliage, first empire style base, molded base, plant decoration, bucranes. Vegetation, trees, dead leaves. On the front of piece nº1 of the montage: map of the observatory district. Historical commentary:
street formerly called rue des deux-anges, des deux-maillets, des charbonniers and maillot (until 1790). Cf. J. This monument comes from a folie from the louis xvi period, transported to the garden of the house of a certain mr cotteret (cf. M.
