Punch judy

Punch & judy punch and judy they have been traveling around england since the 17th century. Its predecessor is pulcinella, a comic character from commedia dell’ arte. Martin powell made it famous, at convent garden, having achieved resounding success and publicity. Punchinella, renamed himself simply mr. Punch, ended up crystallizing as a cruel, seductive, gallant, libertine and immoral character. Today it continues to be a highly successful theatrical genre and a symbol of english culture.
