on the far right, the entrance to the ferdinand bolstraat, with further, from left, the heinekens brouwerij de hooiberg (stadhouderskade 52-53, now 78-79), the entrance to eerste van der helststraat, and stadhouderskade 54-85 (now 80-115). Behind the ship's mast in the middle of the scene is the new building of the rijksakademie voor beeldende kunsten (no. 57, now 86). In the foreground are several barges from which unloading takes place, a handcart being unloaded, a woman and some children, a horse, and some woodpiles for roadworks or other construction activities.
