In the background part of the army can be seen. Reference to the polish campaign of 1807 by the emperor, and more particularly to an episode: the one during which one day, in torrential rain, an old soldier approached the emperor and complained about the fate reserved for the exhausted and hungry army, in these terms: "you must have a famous blow in the head to lead us without bread on such paths! ”, to which napoleon is said to have replied: “four more days, and i will ask you nothing more; then you will be confined.
