Chateau de la Malmaison

The malmaison castle near rueuil, west of paris, in a 19th century etching. Residence of napoleon bonaparte and his wife joséphine de beauharnais during the consulate, 1800–1802 together with the tuileries the seat of government. Here napoleon wrote, among other things, the first draft of the code civil and the so-called malmaison constitution for the helvetic republic.
