Title page to a tract entitled "saamenspraak tusschen het valies, de myter en het bonnet", no. 15 in the series entitled "esopus in europa"; in the centre, an etching showing a drum decorated with fleur-de-lis on which rests a mitre and drum-sticks, on the right, an open money-bag containing "caresses/promesses" again labelled with fleur-de-lis; behind a jesuit's biretta rests on two large religious volumes, lettered "legen[d]" and "missa[l]"; around the drum are musical instruments, weapons of war and a crozier. On the right is a bas-relief with the french tiger attacking a donkey, and a fox crouching in the foreground; a smaller relief below shows cavalry. In the background, can be seen part of a large gothic church. 1701 etching with letterpress printed in black ink. Date: 1701.
