An altered version of bmsat 8146. Paine's head is turned in profile to the left, with a sly smile. The bundle of weapons, &c, on his back is inscribed 'levelling instruments'. The imprint continues: 'who has again opened his caracature exhibition room to which he has recently added several hundred new & old subjects admit 1s. ' 26 december 1792. Hand-coloured etching.
