The experts at bruun rasmussen described this painting as a study for the decorations on the ceiling of frederiksberg palace, near copenhagen, made 1708-12. That would date the painting to the first years of the 1700s. A very similar study (with different dimensions) was sold by the auction house in 2001. See "other versions". Object Type: painting.
