Cartoon of franz schmeykal (1826 - 1894), leader of etnic germans in bohemia, promoter of language division of bohemia into "german" and "czech & german" speaking regions. Strongly disliked by ethnic czechs. The cartoon in a czech-language satirical magazine shows him as putting on a shirt of "rage" (cs: zuřivost) while stepping on "tolerance" (cs: snášenlivost). The caption is a czech language joke, based on having the same word (šváb) for "schwab" (nickname for germans) and "cockroach", and the the same one ("svlékl se") for "took off clothes" and "moulted": (more-less, "after becoming the first šváb, he changed as švábs do"). Date: Published: 2 April 1881.
