The bouquet holder offered by the city of turin to hrh princess clotilde, on the occasion of her marriage to hrh prince napoleon (related illustration) is both for the elegance of its curve and the ingenious combination of its groups of figurines in round bump only by the perfection of the work, a work worthy of this italian goldsmith's work so famous in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries when it had so many eminent artists. This beautiful piece, all in silver, whose height is sixty-five centimeters, is the work of the knight charles borani, one of the heads of the great goldsmith house of turin, whose work is less about industry than art. Maxime vauvert. Date: 19 March 1859.
