Epitaph for the 1,138 hamburgers who died in the winter of 1813/14 and were expelled to altona by the french, on the burial ground in ottensen, a pasture belonging to the ottensen bailiff prahl at the current junction of erdmannstrasse and große brunnenstrasse. The memorial stone was created by carl ludwig wimmel on the initiative of the patriotic society. After the reburial of the remains, the monument was also moved to the cemeteries on what is now petersburger strasse in st. Pauli in 1841. Date: circa 1820.
