Augsburg 2013-03-13-2265, Hans Rottenhammer

Mural in the golden hall (augsburg). It is a reconstruction of the work by the augsburg artist hans rottenhammer, which is installed above one of the portals. It shows augusta, the personification of the city of augsburg, floating on a cloud and sitting, holding a mural crown on her head, the augsburg city coat of arms in her left hand and a pine cone in her right. Above her floats the imperial eagle coat of arms, carried by two putti. In the foreground is a female figure with ears of corn and fruit, as well as personifications of the four augsburg rivers lech, wertach, singold and brunnenbach, which pour a never-ending stream of water from their jugs.
