Algirdas savickis (10 september 1917 in copenhagen – 1 october 1943), left, was the eldest son of of jurgis savickis (1890–1952), center, a lithuanian diplomat and writer, and ida trakiner-savickienė (1894–1944), a dentist whose family was jewish and originally from saint petersburg. Algirdas died in the ghetto of kaunas (kowno/kaunen) after he was shot by a lithuanian guard when he tried to protect his young wife julija. On the right is his younger brother augustinas (1919–2012) who survived since he was able to flee to russia. Date: circa 1929.
